Social Emotional Groups for Students
Dear Parents and/or Guardians,
We are writing to introduce our support team here at Saltonstall School. On our team is Julie Tapper (School Adjustment Counselor and 504 Coordinator), Joy Richmond-Smith (City Connects Coordinator) and Jaleesa Tentindo (School Adjustment Counselor and 8th Grade Guidance).
As the counseling team, We are here to support students socially, emotionally and with any other needs or challenges. We will be running small groups which will often target a social skill, coping skill and/or anxiety, stress management need. The purpose of these groups are to create supportive and positive social experiences for participating students. When invited, group members will be encouraged to develop peer connections and social competency skills in creative and fun ways appropriate to the student’s developmental level. Some students will serve as peer models while strengthening their own skills. These groups will be scheduled in conjunction with the classroom teacher to determine the most appropriate time to take students which typically occurs during lunch time.
If you do not want your student(s) to participate in such a group, please feel free to contact us through Parent Square or email:
