Important Announcements
Good evening Saltonstall families,
I hope you have had a good week. I am writing to you with a few announcements. This week we will have two presentations on the Dangers of Vaping, one tomorrow, TOTALLY IN SPANISH, at Saltonstall School and another one on Thursday in English at Collins School. We will also share “Cookies with our Principal” next Tuesday, celebrate with you all to the beat of the African Drums on the 15th and at the end of the month we will have our traditional Stew Day. Can you believe it? It’s already November! And like every year, we have a month full of important activities and celebrations. November is National Indian Heritage Month, during this month many organizations will be offering seminars, talks and celebrations. We recognize that we are in the land of indigenous peoples. This port was named Naumkeag after the indigenous people who lived here for thousands and thousands of years. The word Naumkeag means “Place or Point of Good Fishing” and was so named because this area is very rich in fish and shellfish. This name evolved into “The Point” as we know it today.
See the attached flyers for more information about each event.
I hope to see you all here, thanks for your attention.
